Finn and James

My cousin Emily and her son James are in Utah for a few months while her husband studies for the bar before he starts his job.  She used to live around the corner and we saw each other almost everyday.  (Finn and I went through major withdrawal when they left.)  Anyhow, she suggested we fly over for a few days.  It was EXHAUSTING traveling alone while pregnant with Finn who climbs everything and can't be contained, but well worth it.  Have you ever tried to use the airplane lavatory (twice on one flight) while pregnant (with a 5 month belly) and a toddler on your lap?  Well Finn thought it was hilarious.

We actually did a lot of things that I never did while I was at the "Y."  Like get fudge at that candy counter in the bookstore, I never even bought candy once there while I attended school.  We also got a shake from the Creamery, something else I had never done.  And I am not having ice cream for about 5 more years.  I'm not the biggest ice cream fan (unless it's homemade...which I've been making lately.)  It took me all day to finish the shake, and when I did at the end of the day I almost died...oh my stomach was not happy.  What on earth do they put in those things.

Anyhow, James (who is 9 months older than Finn) would wake up saying, "Finn, Finn?"  It was so cute.  They had a lot of fun together and James even showed Finn the ropes on his scooter which he's a pro at and isn't even 2 yrs old.  We swam and went to parks and had many adventures laughing together.  I can't wait for them to move back here...hopefully they can find a house within walking distance again!

So happy about Finn's arrival!

Finn was so happy to have a constant buddy.

James is showing Finn how to ride.

I also took Finn to visit Jared's grandmother because she's never met him.  He loved feeding the ducks!
We had such a great time that these are the only photos I took.  We really didn't go visit anyone else, I didn't want to spend the entire trip running around all over Utah trying to see everyone...it was already exhausting enough living on 3-4 hrs of sleep a night (Jared and I don't sleep well when we're apart.)  So, sorry if I never got to see you, it was an Emily and James visit!

at least you get to be exhausted doing something fun (pregnancy counts as fun, right?). you never bought candy at BYU?? that candy counter was a regular stop before classes. have you been making different flavors of icecream? i'm always looking for a new one to try.

I hope we get back to Utah soon so the kids will get to feed the ducks with Grandma, the last two times I was there I was pregnant, once with Lauren, then with Jackson, she hasn't met either of them tough. Sounds like a perfectly fun vacation!

I flew with Jack when I was pregnant with Thomas. I did fine until our rough landing. I had to hand Jack over to the nice girl sitting next to me while I lost my lunch OVER and OVER in the lavatory. Jack was screaming when I got back. I vowed I would never fly without John again. :) I'm glad you survived.
