After Finn's afternoon nap we were lounging (I was lounging on my bed) and he was exploring our room. I love the afternoon sun in there. When he was little, and not mobile, we used to hang out on my bed and bath in the sun while I read. Anyhow, the phone rang, so I went into the other room to grab it. As I was walking out I noticed Finn had grabbed a box of Kashi cherry chocolate chip granola bars. I didn't think anything of it because he plays with all sorts of things that I hide under the bed. Well, after I hung up from the other room I noticed it was silent. I also had a sneaking suspicion that this wasn't the good kind of silent.
I call out to Finn who comes thumping down the hallway with 1/2 a granola bar in his hand that he's quickly trying to stuff in his mouth and the other half stuck to the bottom of his foot. Finn did 2 laps around the house as I chased after him trying to get that granola bar that was stuck to his foot and was leaving a large trail. He then sought refuge under the kitchen table where he knew it was difficult for me to reach him and he could finish off the granola bar before I took it away. I can't believe we got this far with no chocolate. His face was smeared in it, he was giggling with delight and man this kid is fast.
I spent the rest of the afternoon picking granola bar up off the floor, or from under my foot. I can't believe he opened the box and managed to get one of the bars out of it's packaging. Silly little boy.
The classic child assumption, "I can't see you, you can't see me."
Spaced out after a good time with a granola bar.
